Understanding roles: who does what

A quick reference for the five account roles.

  1. Administrator — runs the whole platform: the book catalogue, authors, publishers, categories, licences, devices, bulk import, reports, and schools.
  2. Publisher — uploads and manages their own titles, once an Administrator has created and invited the account.
  3. School Administrator — runs a single school: creates classes, places teachers and learners into classes, and assigns the school's granted books.
  4. Teacher — reads books with every reader tool, and can share bookmarks, highlights and notes with their class or school.
  5. Learner — reads assigned books, makes personal annotations, and can share them with their own grade.

Good to know

  • A book reaches a learner in four steps: Catalogue → Grant → Assign → Read.
